One my friends built a suit like this many years ago. You’ll want to keep in mind the weight of the bottom half of the suit. Depending how the tail is made, it alone may end up being the heaviest part of your whole suit. Keep this in mind when looking at fabric and materials so they are light-weight and don’t contribute to a mobility issue. Think of it like wearing a hiking backpack, completely full, around your waist. It’s not easy to walk around like that.

Suspenders can be useful in keeping them from just falling down on their own, but your body type will influence how well it can hold up. No judgments here, but people with bigger bodies will find it harder to keep this kind of design in place. If your waist is narrower than your hips, you’ll have the option to cinch or belt the top of the suit tightly so that it cannot fall past your hips.

I can reach out to my friends in the community who build suits, or have experience with partial builds, and see if they have a discord or telegram group for discussing how to execute your idea best. I’m hardly the expert, I don’t do any suiting at all. I just have a large number of friends who do.

The consensus from my friends was there wasn’t any chat groups for this specific thing, they’re mostly for cons or for smaller social circles. They all advised to reach out to suiters or builders in FA directly with notes if you like their designs to ask who made them or inquire about prices.

i actually own a 3/4 suit like this! her legs are like pants though and held up with just a belt (lots of belt loops inside and a hole for her tail to attach to the belt) and not suspenders. she's also got arm sleeves held up with elastic that goes across the back! the legs/feet were made by fluvvcostumes and are super easy to move around in and get on/off.
