2019 art, featuring Scungy.
I'm gonna be honest, Scungy's entire character is that he's a stinky bastard...
- He will eat all of your snacks, and put the empty containers back where he found them--assuming he doesn't just leave them on the nearest available horizontal surface.
- For that matter, he will drink everything in the fridge, while standing with the door open, and return the empty containers (or containers with so little left inside that they may as well be empty anyways) to their previous location in the fridge.
- And, even if he does leave more than a few drops of milk, juice, or whatever, in the container... he probably drank off the container directly, instead of using a cup or glass. Enjoy getting rabies!
- He also talks with his mouth full, and often chews with his mouth open.
- He has the same exhaust output as the average semi truck, and his emissions are about as loud as those from said semi.
- "Please", "thank you", "you're welcome" and "excuse me" are not present in his vocabulary.
- However, just about every profanity, insult, or slur that will earn an R rating for whatever comedy he's starring in are definitely present in his vocabulary.
- Speaking of "emissions", he leaves the toilet seat up and always leaves a bit of dribble on the floor in front of the toilet too. He won't open the window, turn on the fan, or spray the air freshener if he does the other thing. Don't worry, he won't replace the toilet paper roll if he uses the last of it either.
- His portion of rent, bills, food, and other expenses... he *will* let you have that. How generous of him. He'll pay you back "next week", but once next week rolls around, it is the current week, and no longer qualifies as "next week". If the pizza delivery guy hands him the pizza, it is his and his alone now, but if the pizza delivery guy hands you the pizza, Scungy will suddenly remember what "sharing" is, and that you're not doing it.
Scungy. 0/10 worst skunk.
At least he's cute, I guess?

You know it! He's the one that's doing the threatening much of the time. And yet, he's an oddly fun character even if I don't use him much. I guess there's just something fun about a character whose entire personality is "bastard" and potentially subjecting other characters to his antics.
I have considered giving some depth to him, maybe making him act this way because he was mistreated or something, but I also kinda like the idea that he's just a prick because he can be.

His entire personality/character is "bastard" and I love that about him even if I don't draw him much! It's probably useful to have a character I can just draw being mean or gross whenever I'm in the mood to draw something more crass, tasteless, or mean-spirited--who would feel bad if I decided to start torturing him with comedic mishaps and stuff, since I get the feeling most people would want to punt this bag of foul odors and profane language into traffic anyways.
Very true! Creating a character people love to hate means you can be as mean to him and people won't bat an eye!
I know with my sona, when I write him in a humiliating scenarios (I had him getting controlled by an evil skunk creature) some people felt bad for him and wanted to know why I actually wrote the story in the first place. I explained that for one, I was just trying to get better at writing. And two, I.. kinda like humiliation. (Not irl) So, I enjoy seeing my sona being all flustered and embarrassed by uncontrolled actions. But people see him as a nice caring creature, so I can understand why they'd have sympathy on his injustice towards.. whatever. XD

Oh geez, it sounds like we have similar interests--and people reacting in similar ways. It's one thing for them to leave comments about how they want to help (or, just as often, be in that same predicament), or express sympathy, but I always thought there was a sort of understood meta aspect to that sort of art, that even if in-character the "victim" is unwilling, their owner/creator/player is willing to have them in that situation. Like, that time I drew Skunk Boy at work, he's being humiliated and I'd probably not want to have that happen to me in real life, but in a cartoon setting? I love it.
I thought the whole point of these "fursona" things was to vicariously live out fantasies through a cartoon character without any sort of real-world ramifications or repercussions or circumstances!
I do need to start subjecting other characters to Scungy to see how they'd handle him, though. So far I've only ever drawn him being a fat, lazy piece of shit and *talked* about how bad he is--might be time for him to start demonstrating it!

Yeah, exactly! If the owner of said character is willing for the humiliation to happen with the character, then it's okay to be a little playful with reactions. Maybe some even enjoying/encouraging it happening! X3
Ooh yes, I'd love to see situations with your characters interacting with Scungry! It could be quite hilarious and interesting to see how your character's personalities interact and contrast each other.

Hopefully not - but two of them were rather undomesticated, and impossible to train, furries! They never did comprehend what a sink was, or that renting required actually paying me rent, instead of all their money on video games and booze. I ultimately had to make them move out of my house. I didn't put them on the street though. I actually searched and found an apartment for them, gave them a bunch of supplies, paid their security deposit, and made them move out!
I could have just kicked them out without helping them, but there would then have been two more homeless people in this world. That's never a good thing. But, I could not let them live with me any longer! The best solution was to give them the means to not become homeless when putting them out. It worked for a while, but they ultimately lost their new place too. I tried to help them in many ways, but some people simply won't learn.
Just like with Scungy, you can love and care for them, but it doesn't mean you can live with them!

That's the problem with being nice to people, others will take advantage of you, and "being the bigger man" often makes you a bigger doormat. But I'm not so sure being an asshole like him is the solution, either. I think the answer is somewhere in the middle, being able to be assertive, and stand up for yourself and stand your ground, but knowing how to choose your battles--and never turning into one of those assholes that makes life miserable for others on purpose!
Oh, even if I tried, I wouldn't be able to become one of those people. Their lack of good manners is just a bad style.
Also being a nice guy can have it's benefits. Longer, happier relationships. Better chances in most job interviews. Having a good reputation around people can be very helpfull. Not getting thrown out of clubs and bars. Less stress with the landlord. And most of all you personally make this world a better place.
But you are also right. Being able to fight for yourself and your rights is also very usefull.
