"They've gotten around us!"

Sven's blood froze in his veins, his thundering heart skipping a beat as his mercs, his Golden Company, struggling to break away from the hulks core. The lupine shouted orders into the comms as the chatter of gunfire opened up. It wasn't enough enough, it wasn't nearly enough. It was chao's, swarms of derelict drones had poured from the ducts, tearing through unseen passageways, clawing up from floor paneling and down atop their heads from the the vaulted ceilings. Of the sixty-six strong group the huge lupine had lead into the drifting hulk, only half that number remained. And there were about to be less as the chittering horde swelled for another overwhelming push.

So in short, spesh pirate kind of peeps scavenge precursors megastructures at the edge of the known galaxy. Big dosh for those who manage to get their hand on some op tech.
