The Academy Library is unapologetically narrow in its selection, leaning heavily towards reference texts, the drier the better. For most devotees, the many volumes of The Journey of Hanna of Taashia suffice for their leisure time reading needs. Most fiction is considered “ignoble,” frivolous, and unproductive. Fiction that has the potential to promote improper thoughts and behaviors is locked away in areas where only advanced students are permitted access, or simply banned altogether.

Nevertheless, for devotees of a certain turn of mind there is plenty of interest to be found in the reference sections. A single small volume shelved, for lack of a better alternative, and no doubt approved by a devotee who was /not/ of a certain turn of mind, among the anatomy textbooks is a particular favorite of Regale.

While the book is certainly not fiction, it only took Regale one look to determine it was certainly not a textbook either. However, it certainly has proven to be educational over the many subsequent looks since, something the many repentant devotees she has left in her wake can attest to.

You may recall Regale from “Earn Your Penance”. Like all experienced devotees, she is an expert in self-control and keeping her appetites in check. While she takes great pains to maintain the appearance of propriety, ultimately she takes her devotion perhaps a bit less seriously than most.
