This is the sort of conversation that can only end in a burp.
Sandra and her husband Striper are remorseless serial killers who have each eaten at least fifty people. They haven't been caught due to a series of rules they set for themselves. Some of them are:
- Only eat people who won't be readily missed (hitchhikers, temporary workers, the homeless, that sort of thing). Their city of residence, Anchorage, was chosen due to its high number of seasonal workers and other potential victims.
- NO TROPHIES. Keep nothing. Burn anything your prey had that might be identifiable. This includes any money or credit cards they had. Generic clothing can be dumped in Salvation Army bins once it's checked for monograms or other ID.
- "Who"? They intentionally avoid learning their victim's names and don't eat people they personally know. There are rare exceptions. Sandra has eaten a couple of fellow exotic dancers, for example, but strippers/dancers tend to come and go from dance clubs and go and she chooses her prey carefully.
- Know the enemy. Sandra has a part time job as a clerk at a police station and Striper works as a security guard. They spend a good deal of time watching cold case file shows and their jobs keep them in the know regarding police forensics.
Almost all of their prey are humans, anthropomorphs being extremely rare in their setting, but not everyone likes human prey so tonight Sandra gets a nice filling hyena. 83

Fun fact: Anchorage has had at least two serial killers in its history, the most recent one ending in 2016 (here's the other one), so Sandra and Striper are in good company.
The More You Know
The More You Know
Striper actually worked as a sewer worker for a year shortly after they moved to Anchorage just so he could scope out the risks. Is their poop, which may include partially digested bone fragments, a risk? Is someone in the sewage treatment plant going to notice? Survey says no. 83
I did a story where Sandra ate a hitchhiker and then a cop randomly pulled the van over. Striper had to swallow her and keep gulping down air in the hopes that the cop would lose interest and leave so he could cough her back up. He's so big that two people in his belly just made him look fat. The cop did leave, but the two planned this sort of emergency maneuver out ahead of time and knew there were few good options if he didn't. It would either be kill the cop and try to get away with it (hoping there was no dash cam or call into Dispatch with the license number) or digest Sandra, both of which are very bad options. Even if he could bring himself to do the latter, now his wife is missing and he'd be the prime suspect. They got lucky and got away with it.
