A drawing based on some concept models for what Anguirus was going to look like when he was originally set to be apart of the movie that eventually became Shusuke Kaneko's GMK in 2001.

Anguirus and Varan were originally going to be the two other kaiju that the almost demonic Godzilla was set to face off against, alongside Baragon. But Toho, deciding that neither of them were bankable opponents, asked Kaneko to replace them with the more popular Ghidorah and Mothra.

THUS why Ghidorah was more heroic in GMK than he EVER HAS BEEN.

I really liked the look of Anguirus, and have always enjoyed him as a character, so I drew this up around the same time I drew the "Delgado" Godzilla.
