Kyote - Go give them watches and faves!
I commissioned this piece at Fur The More 2020.
Most of the Bulconian Academy’s campus is densely wooded. Gravel paths are maintained snaking through the trees, and devotees are invited to explore and familiarize themselves with them. For those who are willing to explore beyond the marked trails, there are streams and hidden ponds, secluded clearings and even rumors of caves among the rocky outcroppings. The forest teems with wildlife and edible plants, the locations of which are rarely shared, to be known, forgotten, and found again.
The location of this blackberry thicket is Jev’s closely-guarded secret, passed on to her by an older friend, and shared by Jev with no one else. In the high heat of summer, when the berries are at their ripest, Jev goes out to gather a fresh basket to share with Clover at their next picnic together…

“More blackberries? Worried I’ll turn gray on you?” Clover teases, the wolfess giving her black-furred head a playful shake.
Jev sticks out her tongue. “What’s wrong with being gray? Maybe you should be worried about me turning black,” the silver-furred rabbit teases right back.
“I don’t think we have to worry about that. You hardly eat any.”
“Because I ate plenty when I was picking them, and I know they’re your favorite.”
“Right. Because you know I have a lot of black fur and you want to make sure it stays that way.” Taking care to keep the juice from staining the hem of her long white sleeves, Clover eats a handful, savoring the flavor before swallowing, “Maybe later you can give me an inspection to make sure it’s working.”
Jev just laughs and shakes her head, eating a smaller handful herself.
“These are really wonderful, Jev. Are you ever going to share with me where you’re getting these from?”
“Maybe next year.” Jev playfully gives her friend a peck on the cheek, the juice on her lips leaving not a mark on Clover’s dark fur.
