
Piano Mic Test - "Kiss Me Slowly"
During all this time of craziness, I've been spending my time (and money) improving my setup for music. I've made many improvements to my drum set, fixed up an extra keyboard I had lying around, and - most recently - I bought a fancy recording mic!
I took a bunch of recordings to test out different aspects of the new microphone.
To test out how my piano keyboard sounds, I decided to play a song I've been working on to eventually do a cover.
So here's "Kiss Me Slowly" by Parachute. A very simple song but very nice-sounding, which is why I've chosen it to be my first full-fledged cover with the new setup.
There's a wrong note or two in the middle section of the song, but overall I think I did well here. I also took a couple of intentional pauses before downbeats just to ensure I hit the right note. This is a work in progress, and I plan on changing some of the parts to better reflect how the song sounds while lacking the ability to play some of the other instruments.
