Okay, so I've decided to draw another old OC of mine (old in more than one way).
This is Dusk the Astral also known as "He Who Sows Storms". He is unique in the most literal sense; he was created by a legendary ancient wizard as a companion for one of their apprentices. The ancient wizard gathered the scales and blood of several native dragon species and used them to create Dusk. The result was, at first, a small and colorful little wyrmling that could use basic Light magic... but over the course of over 1300 years, the little one became a creature of titanic proportions (note the small stick figure next to him: that's how big regular humans are next to him).
The title of "He Who Sows Storms" comes from the fact that Dusk can use a combination of Light, Electricity, Air, and Darkness magic to create massive storms. This power is however rarely seen. In spite of his fierce appearance, Dusk is one of the kindest and gentle dragons within my setting; it is very difficult to anger him. If his general demeanor could be described in one term, it would be "grandfatherly".
From nose tip to tail tip, Dusk is around 55 meters long and is the second-largest dragon within my setting. He is also the mate of Athlakhana the Grey.
Even though he can conjure up powerful storms, his greatest strength is focused more on magical resistance, which effectively makes him immune to all but the most powerful offensive spells.
On a side note, this specific piece took me at least 7 hours from start to finish, mostly because I wasn't satisfied with how the initial sketch looked like... but, now he's here on FA and that's what counts :P.

Well, a big part of what went into my setting also includes time, and lots of it :P Been building it up on and off since 2007 at least. And I bet you could also come up with something awesome if you just had some inspiration (random ideas are sometimes the best ones).
