I just couldnn't seem to get his human form right, any time I try to draw him it just looks really weird... so I found myself making more use of his transformed state instead as time went on.

After all, this beast form is superior in almost every way--aside from the horns being a bit annoying at times, I suppose, and his unusual appearance attracting more attention than his mundane human form typically does even among other anthropomorphs. But, when on the battlefield, or otherwise engaged in action-hero shenanigans, the heightened animal senses and reflexes and increased strength and agility really come in handy!
