Realistic Aardwolf study.
Contrary to it's name (which means "earth wolf") the Aardwolf is a species of hyena. It is the smallest and most unusual of all Hyaenidae.
It differs from it's larger cousins in many ways; they have five toes instead of four, they do not eat meat but subsist almost entirely on termites, they do not have the giant bone-crushing molars of their cousins, and when they mate they form a monogamous pair and raise their cubs together. They do not live in "Clans" and they do not have much gender dimorphism. Also, unlike the Spotted Hyena, they do not make the whooping "laugh" that hyenas are so famous for.
