This is Addo, my Sekkite priest from the Discworld MUD. Featured with him is his pet sektarian imp, as well as the fiery salamander - his guardian totem.
He worships 7-Handed Sek, God of Acquisition. His primary commandment is: "Increase My glory by taking power for thyself from those who are less deserving of it, for the more power thou bringest unto Me, the more power I shall bestow unto thee, and thou shalt remain forever My most prized of servants."
Most Sekkite priests prefer to show their commitment to Sek by mugging and subjugating others with violence.
I prefer to offer a helping hand whenever possible. You can only gain so much from killing and looting, and I feel there is a much stronger value in people owing you favors.
While some would seek to have me excommunicated from the faith for such a schismatic view, I think it is well supported by the books.
MINI SPOILERS:
In the books, beyond accepting voluntary himan sacrifices, Sekkite temples funded public education and healthcare.
Why? Perhaps they too value the power bartering in favors. Who is better off? The man who slays a town and fills his pockets? Or the man who can pull the strings of ambiguous favors owed? >:)
Quite debatable.
