Inspired by  kurst AMAZING photography

When I have really good expressive reference, I usually try and use it to do something wild- like taking Manimal Characters (Man+Animal=Manimal) and basing them off the poses.

The two most common for me: Logan and Victor, aka Wolverine and Sabretooth.

So considering I was feeling down today, I decided to put work a side a bit and just indulge in happy! And after I found Kurst‘s gallery, I couldn’t resist. I pulled out my portable Animation Desk and had a go.

The small, the hairy, the Canadian: WOLVERINE aka LOGAN.
Ah yes, One of my first loves. Many do love him, but I not for the reasons you think. Again, like his other hairy counterpart, the kind of persona I “subscribed” to was different than the ones that they degraded Logan into now-a-days. I remember the classic era of moody and temperamental- but still a good-to-heart kinda guy. Arguable, yes- but I am not going to argue. Take him as you may, but my “Origin” story will always be Wolverine Issue #27.
Anyways.
Fudged the anatomy- I’m merging both human and animal so it WILL be “off” BOTH types, but I consider these guys “were”s to an extent.

Yes, I realize that two of those aren’t Wolverine pictures, but a Fisher; since fundamentally Wolverines are weasels of the same family, I take inspiration from all of them to get the poses.

P.S. My scanner is SO old it is barely compatible to my new system... and it really killed the scanning process of my images. I’ll have to suffer with this; the lines are too bold and not delicate enough!
