Damian Rhodes hails from the suburbs in northern California, where he works in his uncle's farm. An adventurous yet humble high school graduate, he wants to try new things, probably even a job with higher wage, hoping they can benefit his family, especially his uncle.
One day, as he entered high school for 1-year reunion with his classmates, he noticed a booth nearby his former classroom, manned by a young, muscular dog soldier who encourage students to sign up for the MALAKAS Project. Curious, Damian asked about benefits of the project, in which a soldier replied that through months-long training, the best rewards students would get are muscular transformation and sums of money. However, the horse was more into money, as his uncle's income was declining, but although out of genuine concern, he consulted his uncle about the project.
Damian's uncle was hesitant to let his nephew join the project despite its promise of big payback as the former had never heard of it and would have to work on his own for months. When Damian persuaded his uncle to give it a chance, he agreed, wishing to avoid enduring months of imminent bankruptcy even with his nephew's help. By the time Damian reached for the bus bound for the project, his uncle stopped him just to make a promise to do the best he could to earn a money worth two years of monthly rent, he accepted.
One of Timothy's fellows noticed how humble Damian was compared to many recruits, and asked him for a motive for joining the project. Learning Damian came to the base to earn big money out of good intentions, a fellow replied that no matter how humble and friendly Damian wanted to be, he would soon taste some meanness and embrace his future muscle body, but Damian insisted he had to take a risk for his uncle.
Through training and promotions up to Super Soldier, a fellow's warning came to fruit when Damian began to loose himself up. Becoming a bodybuilder became a bigger priority over earning money to save his uncle's farm. He would occasionally end up being a bully who loved pounding lower ranks and his fellow super soldiers. However, when he managed to earned his rank as a Juggernaut, he willingly embraced rage to the point of breaking his own hoe and then laughing in triumph, but that same rage brought up his initial purpose of joining the project: to earn money for his uncle.
In realization of what he had become, he felt guilty for neglecting his uncle, but his new friends assured him that he wouldn't have to worry about his uncle because he had already been informed that the project would take few months and in the end he would earn big sums of money. He just had to embrace being a big, mean bodybuilder for once.
Once Damian returned to his suburban home after his honorable discharge, his uncle was the first to hug him, worrying about him more than money. Damian then unveiled his sums of money worth a decade of monthly rent, much to his uncle's shock and excitement. Additionally, Damian's new body had astonished his younger siblings and high school friends so much, that in the next week, they volunteered to help him and his uncle work in the farm. And once again, his uncle's heart was hit with overwhelming joy over the fact that not only did Damian came back alive and well albeit with his new body and rewards, he had become way better than the uncle's successor.
