Needs more of them holding their stomachs. (During WW2, crude mess facilities and bad food in training camps and in the field meant food poisoning was rife. In one instance 350 conscripts were hospitalized thanks to a shipment of rotten fish.)

Probably in the diet of Soviet units far from the sea, there was rarely fish. Basically, they ate porridge from a variety of cereals, different types of bread, American canned meat. The hot field kitchen was highly developed and technologically advanced, in contrast to the German one.
