Our warlock, Amity, had an appreciation for Swindle's wildshapes (even though Swindle/Cinder hates to do it). She'll pet *any* soft fuzzy animal.
Cinder's not soft anymore. He's very crispy...and bony (he was always bony, but luscious silky fur was great padding).
Still...

Amity and Swindle's relationship in the past had been...rocky at best. Like him, Amity had shown herself to be a selfish pathological liar. But after certain events in the dwarven city of Ivorfall, the two were finally able to see eye to eye. Swindle had been hugely concerned that Amity would abandon them if/when things got too hard, but Ivorfall proved she wasn't the kind of person that Swindle had pegged her for. And henceforth, the two quickly became friends, only for Swindle to die a in-game month later haha.

Upon his return as Cinder, Amity has shown a surprising empathy, being affectionately present for him during a particularly difficult confrontation. A strong and wholly uncalled for gesture that he will probably carry with him from hereon out.

He's not soft like he use to be, but if it makes her happy, he'll nap on her lap as a small, charred fox.
