Just a doodle, was interesting to make. Been really busy over some of the last few days and just haven't had a chance to put time into doing artwork. I'd been working on a few different things at the start of the week but nothing is ready for upload just yet and today I did have some time and energy and so wanted to make something relatively quick for a change from what I've been working on. The story here was kind of impromptu, as I just wanted to explore the idea behind the doodle a bit more.
v - very short story below - v
---
She'd swallowed whole the only star in this system and now her glowing eyes would be the last light to be seen here that could resemble sunlight.
As she left, this system became forever lightless and lost in the vast void of space, taking away the only source of bright light and heat, its planets possibly drifting away aimlessly from each other with no central gravitational force to keep them joined as a lasting system.
Future xenoarcheologists that spotted these lonely and frozen-over worlds would be left to wonder about their origins.

Thank you; your comment got me thinking a bit.
I don't particularly like to think about the effect of stuff like that on sentient life myself, and while my first thought isn't "horrifying", I guess the use of the word is accurate in a sense. But I certainly don't write this type of stuff with any "horror effect" in mind. When I imagine these scenes it's not really something that's at the fore of my mind.
Sometimes I suppose I find it odd how simply adding scale into something can create connotations of power that otherwise may not have existed, in just the same way that some large animals may mean us no harm; they can be perceived as having a measure of physical power over us, as they can be very capable of harm whether by intent or accident. Whenever I imagine particularly destructive macro scenes I typically also see more subconsciously a more miraculous/impossible resolution that may simply involve defying of conventional physics or some alternate solution that simply doesn't result in sentient harm. After all, macro stuff probably doesn't make a lot of realistic sense in regards to physical mechanics anyway, so for me it's a bit of an alternate reality altogether.
Normally I don't verbalise these thought processes, but I suppose I wanted to share something from that corner of the mind.

At that size it is pretty awe-inspiring and terrifying to actually imagine, especially when they destroy your way of life with minimal effort like the animals you mentioned. And hey it was an unexpected but interesting response to my comment so thanks for that dude, Iβm looking forward to what you do next. I love the eye-sunset image thatβs going on.
