It's 2020 and people who have never actually watched any Jungle Emperor (Kimba the White Lion) media or done any actual research beyond misleading Youtube videos, are still perpetuating the whole "Disney plagiarised Kimba!" conspiracy.
I have no love for the corporation but this is just absurd.

Just found out that the twitter thread YMS discussed at the beginning of his video that stirred things up again last year (when I think the first TLK remake trailer came out) basically blamed YMS for getting flak for the false narrative they (re)started.
Because, despite YMS blurring the handle and profile and telling his audience to NOT go after any any of the videos or articles (which, sadly didn't work that much since mobs gotta mob), they blamed YMS for "punching down on a smaller creator" and that he basically "should have done more". Then, after deleting that thread, basically claimed they only got the sources for it from a YT video... which was a lie since the YT video she sourced came out a month after her twitter thread.
No apologies for basically misleading people with a false narrative, just "please send me good vibes to counteract the hate". It was kinda gross to see her brush it under the rug and run her (basically) Tezuka fandom twitter.

He didn't debunk anything. At all. He took things out of context, said Kimba was racist. Made fun of the music, mocked the people who made the music, and he admitted he hates Kimba. He is a liar and just a sarcastic asshole who people treat as if he is some sort of professional. The bottom line is that Disney did rip it off. And, they filed a C&D to try to keep Jungle Emperor Leo out of a film festival. Oh and then YMS claimed that Kimba ripped off TLK...Yeah..No. He's full of BS. And there was a white lion cub in pre production art. A CLEAR white lion. Not light tan, WHITE. Also, YMS said that TLK is not a ripoff because Kimba appears to his son Lune in the sky and not Kimba's father Panja...That is a LIE. Panja appeared to Kimba too. In the 1989 series and the 1965 series. YMS lied so many times. He is a clown.
Gotta love how people see only what they want to see when it comes to things that they like.
1. Like it or not, there were indeed a lot of racist imagery/ideology in the manga and early shows. There's a reason that nearly all of Tezuka's manga that's reprinted for a modern release has a disclosure of "this was fair for its day but still contains elements that be considered harmful". To deny that there is no such thing is ludicrous.
2. He mocked SOME of the music, not all of it. Of course he took the piss out of the "wa-wa-wa" music since it's goofy.
3. Just because he doesn't like Kimba, or outright hates the property, he went in fully expecting that Disney, a company that he does truly hate, did rip Tezuka off.
4. Yes, the C&D was an asshole move, no one's denying it. Doesn't mean much else.
5. There was a black/darkly shaded lion cub in that "gotcha" pic of the Disney sketch with the white/brightly lit lion cub that no one in the Krowd wants to acknowledge.
6. It doesn't matter whether it was Kimba or Panja appearing in the sky, it's still a friggin' reference to Hamlet, done in a way that makes sense to it happening to a lion and the earlier mentioned in the movie "the previous kings are in the sky watch over us, as will I someday".
And then there's the fact that Fred Patton, in an interview for a Kimba box set, out right admitted that the TLK/Kimba allegations were basically bullshit anyways, an interview deliberately left off of that infamous Kimba fanpage which ripped Fred Ladd's interview where he doubled down on the allegations because it didn't fit the site owner's narrative.

And that attitude was the exact thing I was expecting, especially after I saw that you were such a Kimba fan, you had a suit made in his image.

Also, to one of your "points". I never ignored that brown lion cub. It is Kitty/Lyra next to the white lion cub. Also, how is cosplaying Kimba is a bad thing? This is something I wanted for years but never had the money for. But when I finally had the money I was able to get one made.
To be honest Disney would have made a good Kimba movie...Too bad it ended up being the lackluster movie we ended up getting in the end. Jungle Emperor Leo is a better movie than The Lion King. Better art too.
