One of my favorite TF sequences of all time came from S1 E2 of the early 90's furry cartoon, SWAT Kats: The Radical Squadron.
Here, the evil Dr. Viper, utilizing one of his concoctions, turns me into his personal weapon: the giant bacteria!

Hmm. That so? I thought it was pretty cool too. What stuck out to me most was the part with the big cow and the farmer. To the new Morbulus, they became just a big hamburger and a side of French fries. 😋 Then there’s also the part where one of the bacteria clones actually ate a whole subway! Freaky, but it shows how they were a true threat.
Me too. Season two has better animation, but something about it just struck me as kinda "off." It might be the fact the Japanese animators were given too much free reign, with the end result that the characters were frequently off-model. Especially poor Razor, who season two could never seem to settle on a look for.
The irony is despite the darker tone, season two had altogether less deaths in it. Mostly because the show was cancelled with three episodes left to go, and those three episodes had quite a few deaths in them, particularly Succubus! and The Doctors of Doom.
As for Callie, I can take or leave her. I always found her to be a little too biased when it came to the SWAT Kats. She clearly holds them to different, much lower standards than she does other people, particularly Feral. When Feral wants to attack Dark Kat's Fear Ship near the nuclear power plant, she criticizes him... but then minutes later when the SWAT Kats do the exact same thing, she doesn't object, and when Feral goes "What are they doing here?" she has the nerve to say "Your job, Feral!" You mean the job you were trying to prevent him from doing a minute ago...?
Yes, that was an early episode, and she did get better, but it left a bad impression on me and I was left scratching my head and wondering if I was seeing the same Callie Briggs everyone else claimed they saw whenever she's praised as one of the more likable characters in the show.

She appears in:
Mutation City - Major supporting role.
A Bright and Shiny Future - Minor supporting role.
When Strikes Mutilor - Minor role (two scenes; with Manx at City Hall and then again in the helicopter)
SWAT Kats Unplugged - Non-speaking cameo with Manx on the train platform.
The Deadly Pyramid - Major supporting role.
The Origin of Dr. Viper - Major supporting role.
The Dark Side of the SWAT Kats - She herself doesn't appear, but the evil alternate dimension version of her does and is one of the principal antagonists.
She's also in two of the three unfinished episodes. She has a major supporting role in the first half of Succubus!, and a minor supporting role (a couple of scenes) in Turmoil 2: The Revenge.

That transformation scene scared the ever-loving crap out of me as a kid. It's tame by today's standards but still pretty gruesome in a good kinda way. I love the pained noises Morbulus makes, and the way Dr. Viper almost seems to be getting off on it (especially with the way he goes "Yesss!").
Well, that depends. In the show, the original reason the bacteria monster had four eyes was because Morbulus had eyes in the back of his head. They shifted from back to front as he was changing. So the way the creature seems to work, a two-eyed person wouldn't become a four-eyed monster as we see here.
Yeah. All animated shows and films have model sheets. They kinda can't work without them. The animators need reference material. Anyway, the ones for The Giant Bacteria (along with The Pastmaster Always Rings Twice and The Metallikats) were up on Cartoon Network's website for a while. Currently all the SWAT Kats model sheets that have been made available are on the SWAT Kats Encyclopedia website.
