Private Detective Bryce Porthow takes on a case from an obscenely wealthy client with a passion for collecting artifacts and relics from around the world. To obtain them he hires an archaeologist with loose morals, which appears to have backfired as while looking into a temple dedicated to a god of wealth the man has disappeared. The temple had once been decorated gold but it was all taken by locals centuries before, or so the client had been told, he believes that the previously reliable archaeologist found something so good that he has run off with it to sell to a buyer who would pay more.

The client wants the archaeologist, and if he's right, the artifact.
