I had a catharsis.
This one took a couple months. I was delaying how to shade metal.
I sometimes find it silly to have favorite quotes or words that speak to you. But I always find myself coming back to this persian one in particular.
The story has many versions but the one I learned it from was an old persian king who had everything asked for his wise men for a gift that made him happy when he's sad and sad when he's happy. He got a ring with the inscriptions 'This too shall pass'.
It brings you peace during the sad times and keeps you humble during the happy ones. Because nothing lasts forever. Be it the bottomless pits you fall or the endless skies you climb to.
