As I sat down to color this I noticed that my Wacom pen had gone walkies as had my replacements. Those of you who follow the comic know that Uriel did a grand renovation of the room, and apparently my tablet pens were accidental casualties. I've ordered new ones but it'll be a little before they arrive.
Normally I don't crosspost from the comic (too much) but I figure you folks won't mind this once. This was my first attempt to actually color in MangaStudio, which is the program I use to add the tones and comic borders and lettering balloons to my webcomic. I consider MangaStudio to be "The program that takes care of all of the things that sucks about making a comic".
We do not intend to have moldy old cake for our celebratory dinner. Instead we plan to go out for fondue. Yayz!

No marriage is perfect, they all have their rough spots, whats important is that you two are able to hold on to the good stuff about it and work through it, I've seen a lot "We had one little episode, we must hate each other, lets get a divorce".... its getting quite old, nothing is perfect, but its good to see that there are people who are able to hold up to their vows XD
Not that I claim to be an expert on the subject as I've seen many couples stick together for the strangest reasons. Sometimes their quirks and faults meld in juuust the right way for two folks to make a good, albeit odd, match.
BUT... The majority of the breakups I've seen are the result of one simple fact, one of the people involved forgets that they're not the center of the world anymore and it isn't all about them anymore. It isn't about two people joining together to make one another better, but instead someone clinging to someone else because they need someone to be there for them, even if it's only arm candy or someone to complain at. I remember asking someone once what they wanted in a relationship, and they told me they wanted someone to listen to them talk about how awesome they were, take care of all the things they didn't want to do, and be there whenever they wanted to complain and vent. Suffice it to say, said person is still single.

Yes indeed! I fear that some folks just forget what 'love' really means these days. It's more than friendship, it's more than sex, it's more than trust and devotion and honesty and sacrifice. It is all of those things, but it's also treating your life as though you now share one soul, and how deep and wonderful and sometimes painful that can be.
I wouldn't trade it for the world. Not for anything.

*sigh* sadly, i kind of feel that a lot of folks haven't forgotten... they never really knew. and that makes me feel a little awkward sometimes around others - as if the fact that my kat and i have been together as long as we have is bragging. wanting to appear better than folks who can't make their relationships work.
if they understood what love really was, they wouldn't even think of acting that way. o.o
but that's just sometimes. and it's external stuff. my kat and i - like i said, piece of cake. ^.^

I'm reminded of the comic Kat did awhile ago: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/3085271/
He still doesn't get out of the house in the morning without a hug, a kiss, and an I love you :) As many as I can give him before he gets away from me!

Congrats to you and your hubby! =D
Trinsic and I will be celebrating our 10th this coming June :) Time flies when you're having fun O.o
Oh, and we were going to do that too - eat the top part of the cake on our first year anniversary...but the darned thing just reeked of freezer burn >.<

The outside of our cake turned out perfect! However, many people have a taken pictures of me in the middle of saying "It's not chocolate!" XD It was *supposed* to be chocolate, but it turned out to be a white cake instead, which my hubby doesn't really care for >.> But we ate it anyways, we figured if this was our "thing to go wrong", it's not that bad XD
Congratulations, Gen and Uriel! I echo some of the comments above, and say that it's very encouraging to see marriages that remain strong through the years, in spite of the inevitable difficulties and disagreements. Thank you for showing that marriage can and does work.
My kitty and I are going to hit our 13th anniversary on May 9th.

Congratulations to you both, and may you two be blessed with countless more anniversaries.
From what I heard, even after just one year the cake tends to be too stale to be an enjoyable dessert. Must be some sort of anniversary dare that mutated into tradition. I personally plan on building a vacuum chamber for the durn thing because I don't want a stomach ache from bad cake after my first year.

Congrats you two! And to all the other couples who mentioned theirs on this thread, too.
TL and I will celebrate 30 years in June. Believe me, it takes some work (Like ALWAYS remembering to give each other a kiss and say I love you when we part company, even for just a short trip to the store.), but the magic can be maintained. As for our cake, yep, we did eat the top on our 1 year. It was still edible, and some ice cream along with it made sure it was palatable, as well. (Plus, a kiss or three helped make sure it was still sweet.)
