The only way for hard-copy would be among 'family'. I suppose exchanging files would be possible, but the interaction between artists would have to be like some event on Zoom or Google Hangouts. Not many have the tech or space for doing that.
We all have to admit that in-person sketch trades are often totally quiet except for pen-scritches and grunts. 😉 I can sometimes hold a conversation if I am inking a pencil drawing, but it is almost impossible to sketch and carry on a real conversation. Visual construction gets in the way.

Me too!
Thanks. I feel like I am thrashing through when doing color. It has been a relief to realize that most viewers will accept non-realistic coloring, as long as the color kind of makes sense on its own context. Makes it easier to try things, or accept 'happy accidents' in coloring.

The original inks were scanned into PaintshopPro in the late 1990s. The color was done in 2014, maybe on the same graphics software. Paintshop Pro was bought out by Corel, so recently I upgraded to "Corel Paintshop Pro 2018" (but has been modilfied into more of a photo re-touch software, though the graphics capability has been buried in the retouch and painting features.)
I have not trained myself in anything close to the full capability. I also have bought Clip Studio, which is more of a drawing/graphics program, intended for printed manga & webcomics. I haven't seriously worked on learning the skills there, either.
