Here is some artwork that I did for AnthroCon's conbook that will be coming up in June. This year's theme is "Modern Stone Age" since the guests of honor for this year are Mr. James Gurney, author and illustrator of the Dinotopia series as well as Mr. Jim Martin, Emmy-award winning puppeteer, director, and character performer.
I wanted something a bit more serious along with the comical images, but I wasn't sure what to do, so I came up with something a little different: steampunk. It is modern to a degree, and heck, I thought it was a cool idea, so here is a triceratops engineer looking at his small pocket watch.
This image intimidated me a touch, I never really did a anthropomorphic dinosaur before, and this one took several tries to get right, but in the end I'm very pleased with how it turned out.
Who knows, I may keep this guy as an actual character.
This image will be colored and it may appear in the Art Show as well, so if you attend, be sure to keep an eye out for it!
Photoshop 7.
Character and artwork are mine.
