Since a friend of mine was curious about what sort of pizza place the pizza boy worked at, and we had a good discussion about it, I decided to try drawing it...
Also, the pizza boy is standing outside, making this perfectly legal to post on sites like Fur Affinity.
It's been a while since I've drawn any buildings like this, it was a fun change of pace.

Yep, that's the one! I still think it could do with an update, especially since now I want to name that one after the family that owns it, rather than the super generic moniker "Pizza Time". Maybe put the advertising banner on some sort of awning instead of that flat billboard look, add some exterior light fixtures, give the windows the same sort of quality that the ones in this more recent example have and maybe make them less tall. I know I've seen buildings like that in my life, though! When I was growing up my grandparents lived near a busy street that had a couple blocks of businesses all bunched together, a lot of them having the apartments over the businesses and such.
Architecture and buildings is something I sort of enjoy, even if I can't draw it very well, maybe I should spend more time designing these sort of buildings and scenery and set pieces.

Thank you! I was sorta inspired by Mediterranean architecture a bit, but not quite, it's actually sorta hard to explain the design influences here. A bit of Italy, a bit of Spain maybe, a hint of the American Southwest and Latin America, even? I guess the hodgepodge makes a bit more sense when you take into account it's an Earth-like world, but not actually Earth, so I'm free to blend ideas a bit.
That, and I've seen businesses just pop up in whatever buildings are available regardless of the architectural style--for a little while, there was an old 1990s Taco Bell with the full-on mission aesthetic occupied by a doughnut/bagel shop around here, and an odd trend I've seen the past few years is physical therapy outfits setting up shop in old banks, and it's kinda weird seeing the unused drive-thru lanes attached to what's basically a doctor's office.
Maybe a pharmacy should take up residence in an old bank like that, now that I think about it, and fill prescriptions through the drive-thru lanes...
That also reminded me of the bank that somehow inexplicably popped up in an old car wash building that used to be downtown. Maybe I do need to just make a point of designing some really hastily modified businesses in random buildings or even large abandoned vehicles or something, turn a derelict space freighter into a drive-thru restaurant or mechanic's shop or something crazy like that.
I generally don't take requests, although I am open to suggestions, and sometimes draw gifts for friends! Maybe we should chat in notes sometime and get to know each other a bit better, I do enjoy chatting with you.

No problem! Haha yeah, sort of a mishmash Of different style buildings. That can always be fun to take inspiration from multiple things. Usually that's how the "perfect" design gets created!
The thought of a "drive thru doctors office" sounds pretty hilarious! But, I mean, you make the best out of what you've got! X3 But yeah, a pharmacy would be good for old bank buildings since they already have drive thrus attached to the structure. Okay, THAT would be amazing to see! Taking something old and oddly built and turning it into a business you'd never expect to see.
Ah I see. That's totally understandable! Yeah, I'd love to chat with you more sometime! You seem like a very cool dude with a creative mind! I usually use discord more for chatting, but notes works well too. ^^
