After "Best Of" I decided to draw an OC Retrospective - All my OCs in chronological order! Or at least some representants, else I'd hardly come to and end.
You can see the full sized artwork (I don't like the maximum image size here) at deviantART: http://comic-ray.deviantart.com/art.....tive-162036392
It would be better to comment each one, wouldn't it?
The first four are my very first "real" OCs that were not copied from somewhere else, I drew them when I was about ten years old - Here we have Nasi Nasenmonster (the one with the giant eyes), Pepchen (on the left) and Popeline (on the right). Only Fido, the dog, came some years later.
They were my each and everything for many years, you might say that my comics grew up with them. I drew dozens of long comics and shorties with them (but at least I only finished one ^^; ) where I sent them on adventures every child dreams of.
The next ones - those bubbly things - are called "Gums" (Yep, just like bubble gum). I once invented an army of gums with two friends! Their comics were also the first ones I colored digitally - You can see some of them in my scrapbook. The Gums showed here are Popstargum, X-Gum and Meerjunggum.
After them came those karate-alien-somewhat (simply called Wi) which was - as well as my caricature below - part of comic where Aliens tried to take over the earth and we had to stop them (ordinary story, I know).
Well then... The black-haired boy and the little dragon were my first manga OCs! I drew them for a manga called "The secret of the Dragon Stone" and I was very proud of them these days, but when I look at them now - Bwah. I don't like them very much. I was influenced too much by Gosho Aoyama's drawing style (Detective Conan) and they even don't have names! But they were my first manga OCs, so they're kinda important.
After dropping "The Secret of the Dragon Stone" after a few pages because of a lack of a good story, I started another manga which hasn't a title even now. The protagonists were the sitting boy and the little Striik (That's right, I originally invented the Striik for this story) and the antagonist this guy with the knifes. But also after some pages, I recognized that the character designs were lame and the story too childish, so dropped it, too.
But now there came my third try of a manga. That's were Sima and Kamal as the main protagonists and the Lord of darkness as the main antagonist were born! The Project is almost two years old, but I still have it in mind. I have many characters for it now and a rough storyline that I still like, so I'm sure that one day I'll draw the whole manga.
Not to forget that in this state, my cartoon style and my manga style merged together. I'm not drawing either cartoons or manga any more, I'm drawing in kind of a hybrid style. Besides, why should I constrict myself to one or the other?
That's where my two new caricatures took place - the chibi one and the more realistic one which represent me now.
And last but not least - yep, my newest OC species! The problem is that I still don't have a name. As Trax was the first one of them, you might have recognized that he's like the species prototype. Quma, who represents the sub-race, is the newest one as well one of my favourite OCs.
