I'm not really taking part in Smaugust (A draw-a-dragon-every-day-of-August challenge) , but I did decide to throw one in!
I suggested painting a butterfly dragon to KanizoArt, and we agreed to both do one today for fun alternative interpretations!
So here's a smol dragon feller with a bit more elaborate patterning than what dragons tend to come with

Love the contrast between the textures of soft, feathery edges of the wings, and the spiky, scaled tail.
Your dragon designs are always so novel and inventive, and they always look like creatures that could actually exist. I think it's the way you handle the wings and how they look both proportional and anatomically probably for that kind of critter.

yeeees, the soft features of a butterfly offered a chance to play off the harder features typically on dragons
Funny you mention proportions, since some days after painting this one I was looking at it and thinking "huh, I never really did put anything in the background to compare its scale to".
Is it as big as a pebble? Or as big as a car? Who knows!
