I ... seriously need to refrain from drawing more Krystals. Or at least coloring some of the other stuff I have. >.>
I experimented a bit with the pen tool for this one... It's pretty awesome, giving me lines that are vector-smooth, but I really need to get used to drawing curves with it.
I'm also not intensely familiar with the cel shading style; Clean art is just so not me. XD It does save me quite a bit of time, though, as compared to how I normally shade.

Hahaha, cool. Very amusing, even if illogical. :3 Though if you stretched it, maybe Cerinia folks knew of the original Star Fox team back then. Hell, maybe Cerinia is one of the planets Andross destroyed back when James was around. Beyond that, I wouldn't think she'd have gotten her tribal tattoo until her mid-to-late teens, maybe as a coming of age thing. Would it last as long as it has without losing clarity? I've not fully researched frost branding.
Well... a lot of things are already pretty illogical in SFA... like, why the heck is she even wearing that ridiculous outfit? While it might fit with the whole Dinosaur Planet thing, she's not exactly a native. How the heck does she even know how to speak Saurian? etc, etc.
Cerinia - Destroyed by Andross and his army for an unnamed reason around SF64 timeline Krystal was captured at the time. Age 11
Escape - Some point after Andross's defeat and his army's dispersal due to a member of the [whatever the good guys like Bill are], Krystal is rescued from whatever difficult fate she has been dealt. Possible age, 11-12
Growth - Adopted by a Lylatian family, probably an elderly couple / lady. Regained trust in people, and taught Cerinian culture. Possible age, 12-16
Tribal - Tattoo markings given in Cerinian tradition as a coming of age feat. Staff given as recovered from planet wreckage or loot obtained from Andross's army. Age 16
Flight - Following this, Krystal becomes interested in learning more about Cerinia and Andross. Elderly couple fund a freelance space junker, seen as the ship that abducts Tricky. Possible age 16-17
Search - Krystal spends several years searching, and helping out people as she travels. Possible age 16-19
Entrapment - Krystal arrives at Sauria by her junker ship. But she is trapped and her powers as a Cerinian are made use of by Andross to revive him. She recognizes him at the point of her capture due to her telepathic abiltiies, as he was possessing General Scales. Age 19
Explains - Cerinia's destruction. Telepathic abilities. (Nintendo kept those as part of her, and not part of her staff. As such, they can also be applied to her ability to speak Saurian and swapping to Lylat, and whatever other language she would need.) Tribal appearance. "It's you!" remark. (Reminder: green vision is specifically Andross, as shown in the pre-Andross boss fight, and not General Scales, though at the time, Andross was inhabiting General Scales) The odd ship that would likely have been Krystal's ride to Sauria in the first place.
Nintendo kept her with jewelery, but they changed it. It's not her tribal stuff, and it doesn't even look similar. And in the DS one, the few pictures they show of her not in her (wtfpink) suit, she doesn't even have her markings, which even if they are temporary, would mean she completely abandoned her cultural heritage.

Oh, I'm aware of that much. It's just it got me thinking on stuff like if Cerinians would even know of the Lylat army or Star Fox or anything. The reach of Lylat's space force is rather vague, but given how many odd creatures are assembled on the Star Fox team, I would say it's pretty far.
