Hey, I'm uploading something drawn in pencil and uncoloured! It's an expression sheet I threw together for Zen. Y'know, it's pretty challenging to create twenty-five unique facial expressions for someone who has no lips!

It sure isn't! I know some people will draw bird-furries with beaks that grin or frown, but since I attempt a more realistic style (which is an irony, considering the subject is a four-inch bird girl with both wings and arms—essentially six limbs), I had to do my best with her rigid beak. What was all the more challenging was that I originally designed Zen so that her beak had a subtle upward curve towards either end, to mimic a smile, making it extra difficult to do the sad and angry expressions.
I typically associate Zen with jubilance—I always draw her dancing, singing, or soaring gleefully—so just the very fact that I drew those negative emotions was uncharacteristic. However, I think displaying them her a little more well-rounded of a character, and it's great practice for me as an artist.
