The Brute-Garou, despite its lyncanthropic association, is most closely related to bears. It may belong to the family Hemicyoninae, an extinct subfamily of ursidae. Its distinctive features include a long haired mane from forehead to tail, a skeletal structure suitable for bipedal movements, and elongated arms with hands used for knuckle-walking.
Eyes have bioluminescent corneas, resulting in a light green glow. The Brute-Garou have limited spectrum vision, being able to only access part of the visible spectrum to humans but also some infrared. They are primarily nocturnal due to the eyes’ sunlight sensitivity.
Their hands and feet have five digits each. Long claws prevent the species from walking as a normal quadruped, but this adaptation helps with the hunting of fish and small birds.
The Brute-Garou are 6 – 10ft tall when standing up right on their hind legs in a bipedal manner. Typically, their tails range anywhere from half the length of their hind legs to double the length. A small sample size has made determining normal sizing difficult.
