Whew... I've had a few troublesome pieces in the past, but this one definitely has earned its place among them.
What started off as a cute doodle with the anticipation of a basic full sized character portrait turned into a mess of edits and changes. I went so far as redrawing this and was still nowhere near what I'd anticipated as the finished result.
...but I perservered xD;
I present to you with the magical wolf Lindsay, courtesy of  Dezbluerose. Lindsay is a shy girl who is unaware of her magical powers. She lives her life taking care of her father while what happened to the rest of her family remains a mystery to her. Still, all in due time Lindsay finds her way, and learns of a special power called Aether--something that she, her brother, and their deceased mother were capable of using. This starts Lindsay on a quest of finding out more about her special powers, and what she can do with these powers to help those friends of hers in need.
Playing around with this drawing, I focused primarily on the greyer colours so that I could get a more balanced look. My artwork fluctuates between "holy crap that is vibrant" and a mix of hot, cold, and stale greys. My focus was to make her eyes and her hair stand out by giving them a more vibrant look to them, as it was part of Lindsay's original design to have just that red of hair and that deep of blue to her eyes. In the end, I feel confident in myself that I pulled it off. Still not happy with many parts of this piece, but I can definitely say in the end for what began as a troublesome piece ended up as something I can smile and share with others. I hope young Lindsay gives you a smile too n.n
