While I was doing some training exercise, there a frog boxer named Modo, who's like to have sparring match. However, my new coach, Fang said that I have to let someone to have a sparring match. That is my new fighter, Flick. Hope they'll have great fight.

During my usual training session, Fang gave me some lesson on how to advance during dodging and parry on the target hands, and even another one of his lesson that he has been taught by his coach before he was Olympics champion and boxer. And on that day, we're going to have an unexpected visitor from out of town.
While I am focusing on my jabs, Fang count my punch in repeated order; "one-two, one-two, one-two..."
Until, someone came into my gym carrying some equipment. It was a red-eye tree frog looking for someone in the gym for help him on something.
"Hello?" he said; "Is someone here?"
He began looking around and found out there's nobody here, until he heard some leather sound being hit. He began to follow the sound and spotted us doing some training. He could see me punching into the target as Fang held it up high for some proper target like a real boxer's height. So, he continues to watch me train for minutes and until he saw me finish it off with a poweful hook that it took out Fang off hand and began to fly across the gym. And as see how far it flew; he was amaze from mine skills.
After Fang saw the mitten land in the far in the gym's floors, he began to inhale sharply and whistle; "Man, Dex. That some powerful punch. If you keep doing that maybe you could join in the baseball team."
I began chuckle; "Sorry about, Coach. Are you okay?"
"Yeah, it was nothing," he said as he opens and closes his hand.
"Guess I have to learn to controle my strenght."
And then I heard someone behind me, saying; "Exscue me?"
I start to turn around and saw a strong young tree frog, holding his bag's shash across his chest. As I saw him; I begining to wonder if I saw him before. But then, I greet to him with a good old hello; "Hi, my name is Dex, I'm the owner of this gym. And this here is my coach, Fang."
"Hey there," he said.
"And what do you come, my friend?"
"Oh," he said; "right. My name is Modo, I came from another and I just wondering if you could have me in sparring to help me get stronger and be able to win in a match."
I began to gasp. I knew this frog before, I thought; He's from one of the members from rhino gym, and he's one of the elite boxers of himself, Chirros. But I still don't get it. Why would want to have a sparring match here instead of his gym?
However, I still won't let anyone down from my gym. So, I said to him;
"All right, yourself a match, Modo."
But, "Not so fast," Fang stop me, and said; "I can understand, Dex, that you like to help him out and many boxers, too. But did you forget that you have training to do? You have big match coming soon, and I don't want you to waste your energy on it."
"Aw c'mon, Fang," I said to him; "I known I have to continue training, but since he's here; maybe we could spar together and who knowns, it can also help us to get strong, too."
But Fang wouldn't allow me to fight against him. This is the most ridicules thing I ever have. I couldn't with other boxers. Guess I must find someone, to fill me in and have great fight with Modo. So, I head over to my office to see who's available here in my gym. I could see that Bullet isn't here, meaning that I have one boxer here that have a full schedle on every weeks and month to go into my gym. And I think he's up for that kind of offer.
So, I gone back to friends and told Modo; "Since I couldn't be able to spar with you, Modo. Sorry, I really looking forward to it."
"No problem," he said with a smile.
"I maybe able to find someone who would like to spar with you. And his name is Flick, he one of the rookies and yet he's one of my best students to teach with, he could help you."
"All right, I like to take him on."
"Huh, well okay," I began to blow my whistle and call out to him; "Flick! I need you in the ring, you have a new sparring partner!"
As he heard me; he began jogging toward and started to greet us;
"Hiya, coach. I heard you say that you needed me to spar with someone?"
[Flick Gecko- He's one of the geckos who came to my gym for some training and love to have sparring match, but he only did it for some action like in the real boxing match. Plus, he's friendly and always love to cheer other on during their match. Also, when we first fight together; I could see that he really known how fight. Like, is he learning or something? But instead, I could see that he studies some boxing in some books and even he read some boxing history during his school year. And yet, he did win in one round each. Plus, it's a draw. So, I made him, my best student to help him become a champion.]
"Yeah," I said; "Flick, I wanted to meet Modo. He's one of the best boxers in his gym."
"Well, I'm not..."
Then Flick rush over to him in awes; "Really? That so cool. It pleasures to meet you, Modo," he began to offer him a handshake
Modo was surprise to see him all excited for his appearance, so he gave him handshake and said; "Um, is he always do that?"
I began to laugh nervously; "Yeah, but you get used to it."
"That's right," said Fang; "since he came over to this gym; he goes gaga with us boxers, even with Rumpa."
"Oh yeah. Ha ha, he always says that he loves our boxing match and would to see us fight, again."
Then Flick said; "Of course, even do I would to see the two boxing champion fight head on."
"We're actually boxing champion, Flick."
Modo began to wonder and said; "You have another fighter?"
I said to him; "Yeah, but they must a been somewhere off to have good time before summer ends. But let get this match started, shall we?"
They both nodded. Modo gone to the locker room to get change into his boxing gears and began to walk towards to the ring where Flick is waiting for him. Flick was all hype to fight a new boxer in the gym, so he began throwing some punches along him going toe-to-toe on his corners.
On the opposite side, Modo began to relax in corner laying his back against the ring's rod. He watches Flick do some shadow boxing, and even sees me taking care of him to be ready before the fight. Then, he began to get up and put on his boxing stance to show that he is ready.
After I told Flick about everything that we've trained, I begin to remove his chair and leave the ring. Then, Fang gose inside and began to bring them over to the middle of the ring. As they're met eachother in the middle; Fang began to break down some rules to them;
"Okay, guys, listen up. this match is going to be a three round. Along with down count and even knock-out. So, the rules are no horse playing, body locks, nor hitting below the belt. You understand?"
They nodded with agreement.
"Good, now let shake on it."
Then Flick said to him as he taps his gloves; "Good luck, Modo."
"Yeah, you, too," he said as tap his gloves back.
After that, they began to head back to their corner and waited for the bell start their first-round match. And then *Ding*, they begin to head back and began to put up their gloves. Flick started off by some foot work to see if Modo goes first to throw a hit. But, he didn't he somehow gotten his glove up and did the same thing as Flick dose. So, since he sees that he didn't throw the first shot, he got the first move to strike.
Flick started with his glove high and started to throw a punch; double one-two jabs, two right jabs, and then a left straight. While Modo still hopping with his toes; he began blocking his jabs and dodge his left straight. Making him do a counterattack with a right straight toward his face, but somehow Flick move quickly by making him miss the shot and gave Modo an upper cross on his left of his face.
Modo couldn't believe that Gecko could move that fast and be able to throw that kind of attack. As I watch them in the outer ring; I could that Modo did a great job counterattack, but his movement is kind a slow. And as Fang saw that hit; he sees that he thrown a clean hit and let them continue their match.
Modo now see his movement and strength, so now it's his turn to fight back. He began letting Flick him come closer to him. And as he doses that; he started punching to him. However, Modo dodges them in each punch he could see, and then, counter him with a body blow to let his guard down and continue fighting.
After Flick throws multiple punches, he begins to miss a hit and gotten himself unguard with a impact toward his gut. He began to exclaim; "Oomph." And then he been taken a several hit by Modo. After that he began layback toward the ropes.
Fang began to spreate Modo from Flick, as he is taking some breather. And when he checks on him, he could see that Flick can continue the match. And then, he said to Modo;
"Wow, Modo. I've never gotten this far with you. I can see that you are strong."
"Really?" he said; "Thanks."
"But, don't get that over to your head just yet. Because this fight it just a beginning."
"Then bring it on."
Modo and Flick continues with their match. I can see that Flick getting all cocky with this fight, however I still understand about Modo. When he enters the gym, he wanted me to face him, but Fang couldn't let. So, why he wanted me to have sparring match with him. I began to think and then just heard several gloves hits. I look back at the ring and see Modo began to fall forward. I couldn't believe my eyes, Modo has just fallen while I took my sight away. And that's not all, how come he gotten himself knock-out like that?
Fang counting to his knock down, Modo begin to struggle to get up and said;
"Not yet. It's not over yet."
Flick was surprise to him got back up but couldn't let him fight on like this. So, he said to him; "Modo, I understand that you could be able to continue fighting, but you need rest up for the next round."
"No way!" he began to protest; "I won't lose in the first round, so come on and fight me! Unless, you're too scare to face me."
Flick stop at his track and said; "What was that?"
"You heard me. You're just some kid who love to play around in some boxing costume and began to imagine yourself that you’re a boxing champion."
"Take that back!" Flick yelled.
"Or what? You going to bash me like a little lizard? Or even give me some sort tax insurance like business gecko."
"Hmph, don't known. Maybe I could give you some good insurance after some beat down that you going to have."
"What was that?!" said Modo.
"Your heard me, you green toad!"
"Shrimp lizard!"
And as I try to stop them; they continue calling each other some random names, and then they growl to each other as they stare toward eye to eye. Then, Fang step in and said;
"All right, that enough you guys!" as they begin to see him; "You two better stop or you'll be disqualified from this match."
They began to feel sorry for their action, and began to apologize; "Sorry, Coach."
"And also, please let Dex go." And as they began to look each other to see what he's talking about. Until, they notice something between in their chest. They started to look down and saw me getting squish by their chest like two wrestlers do a tag team attack on me.
"Oh, about that, Coach Dex," said Flick.
"Yeah, sorry about that, Dex," said Modo.
"No worries, mate," I said; "I still get used to it. After all, I do some wrestling with my friends."
They all began to sigh in relief and began to tap their glove together, and then they started to walk away to their corners. As Flick gotten into his corner; I go to him and ask him what has happen, then he said; "I don't know, since I got the first round; he started to get all... I don't know, maybe furious I think."
"Hmm..." I start to wonder if he has something that he didn't tell us from the very beginning.
Then on the opposite side of the ring, Modo began thought to himself; "I must lose to this fight, I must win to get back to the top. If I don't, then I'll never become the champion on his gym. I must for him."
While the second round has started, they began with a fresh start. Modo and Flick did a good parry from their quick jab from view. However, this won't be last very long. Until Modo have the advantage to this round, he thrown a double right jab, left jab, right hook, left hook, then a right uppercut.
Flick has his guard as the upcoming attack two right jabs and a left jab, then dodges both hooks from left to right, but when he gets cocky, again; he didn't notice that he has one last attack that was an uppercut. Flick's head began to go upward as it impacts by Modo's attack. After that, Flick began rubbing his chin with his glove and began to laugh.
"That quite a nice hit right there, my friend," he said; "Maybe you teach some your tricks someday how about that?"
Then Modo began to growl; "Grr, how about you get serious, huh, Flick?"
"Oh, do I make him mad?"
By the way he said it, it was like he was fighting in a real boxing match. Maybe I have to be prepared just in case. I wrap the towel in my hand and be ready for some action.
Back the match, Modo begin charging at him for another upcoming attack. However, Flick change the course of his attack and started off by counterattack with his own charge attack. He began dodging Modo's straight punch that coming towards him and began to disappear from his sight. And as Modo started to look around; he couldn't find him anywhere. Until he begins to look down and spotted him on the floor, ready to launch his attack.
BAM! Flick gave him a hidden uppercut that send Modo defenseless and daze for a few second. And when he has the full advantage, Flick began to commence his attack by continuing of his combo punch. He thrown multiple punches to him. Modo taken every single hit from top to bottom. And then, he finishes with a powerful corkscrew in front of his face and gotten himself into a knock-out.
Fang goes to him and saw that Modo was unable to continue. Meaning that he has knock-out by Flick's punch. Fang started to grab his arm, lift it up high, and announced;
"The winner of this round goes to Flick Gecko!!"
I began to cheer as I go to him, and said; "You did great out there, Flick. That was an amazing match."
Flick began to stick out his tongue and smile.
Then, as Modo began to get up once again; he began to struggle to stand up, and said;
"Hang on!" as he is panting; "It not over just yet!"
"Now just wait a minute, Modo," I said; "My boxer, Flick, has just won this match. Meaning that you have lost."
"No way! I won't give up until I win."
Then Fang step in and said; "Dex's right, kid. If continue this far, you'll never going to make it to become champion."
"That exactly the point!" Modo began to yell; "If I won't be able to continue fighting, then I'll never become champion at all."
Flick known that can't stand around and do nothing. So, he goes forth and try to speak with him; "Modo. I understand that you must struggling to becoming champion, because I know that feeling before."
"Yeah right, you never going understand how feel because you never known it feels to becomes someone punching bag."
"But I do, ever since that I wanted to become champion, my new friends; Dex, Fang, Rumpa, and everyone here actually help me to get strong and be able to win every match. And you know what? I actually did it, even if I win or lose, I will become champion."
"Flick..." And then Modo began to pass out.
We gasp to see him down, so help him by aiding him while he gets some rest. And as I see him; he almost looks a lot like my crocodile friend, Rumpa. And when I heard him say something like "Becoming someone punching bag." Could mean that he's bullies or better, yet someone could have given him a hard time at the gym. Whatever is the matter in his gym, we could hear his story after he wakes up.
After couple of hours, Modo begin to come around and see him getting better by us helping him. He surprises to see us helped him. And then, as he sees us; began to wonder how long he been out. I told him it's about couple of hours.
"Seriously?!" Modo exclaim.
"Yeah, sorry about that, Modo," said Flick; "I kind an over did it on that punch and made you knock-out."
"No, I'm the one who need to be sorry. I kind a gotten overreacted for something that stupid. So, I'm the who's responsible for this action. Made you guys getting into mine troubles."
"Hey," I said; "you don't need to apologize, Modo."
"Yeah," said Fang; "you really did some us some great fight. After all, it is three rounds, but you actually survive in two rounds."
"Two round and a half."
"Heh, yeah."
"Anyway, Modo, you didn't tell us the reason why you wanted to get strong. What is your story?"
"Yeah, what is your purpose to came over here?" asked Flick.
That's when Modo notice that we needed answer, he has no other choice but to tell us what has happen to him. And that he did. He told us back when he was a new member before he was champion of the gym, he saw himself a great fighter training inside there. When he spotted a white dragon named, Drake, the champion of the gym. He excited to train with him. So, they began to train together and work themselves to the top to become champion together. When they are having match Modo really put on the great effort to win in the match to claim as the new champion. And with great battle he been through, he has now finally become champion of the gym. However, as Modo became champion, Drake somehow change. He gotten a new hairstyle and also, he has becoming a new dragon, too. And that not all, when he wanted to have rematch with him; Modo somehow gotten into an TKO. That change his life for good. And so far, Modo has now becoming Drake's dummy to have something to punch on and even to beat up. And that when Modo decided to visit to another gym, so he can get stronger without someone beating him up.
".... And that when I came here, so I can get myself stronger than him. And face a stronger opponent for good advantage."
When we heard the story, it almost wanted us to face Drake and defeat him for good, after what he has done to him. And as for Flick; he felt sorry for him and said to him;
"Modo... I... didn't known you were..."
"It okay, I can still take a few hits from some random fighter, anyhow."
"Modo..."
Then Dex said; "Right then. Modo, if you really wanted to get strong and fight back to get to the top. You must remember who you really fighting for. With that, you can have more fighting spirit then before."
"Dex..." said Modo.
"True," said Fang; "but, you can teach him, Dex. Remember, you still have some training to do before match against Roger. Even do, you still have a halfway to go."
"What? Then, who will teach Modo and help him during his training?"
Flick start to stand up; "I will. I'll train him for his upcoming match."
"Flick..." I said.
"Dex. Or better yet, Coach, you been teaching me for so long, that you could trust me to train myself and focus on my goals toward the top of the tower of championship."
I was surprise to hear him say that to me, but he's right. Both of my friends are right, I have to trust him and also, I must train before the match. So, I give my coach title to Flick and let him train Modo.
Flick train Modo each day before he'll get back to his gym. Flick and Modo really get stronger from their trainings and would be able to help each other for their hard work. And as Modo ask him why would he wanted to get stronger; Flick told him that he has a boxing hero that he always dream about when was a kid, but every other kids started to make fun of him, he started to lose hope. However, when he grown up he began to regain his hope and be able to fight back with everything he got inside of his heart.
Modo was inspired from his story and began to wonder if he, too, could fight with his heart.
During next day, it's time for Modo to head back to his gym and face Drake. He also like Flick to come along, too. So, he accepts his invitation and watch his match. When they at the gym, Flick sees all kind of fighters that Modo was talking about. He was in awe to see many strong fighters. When he saw Drake, he known that he was some buff bully that could beat his friend out. And when he come close to Modo, he began to toy with him by some mean words and mocking him about his dream. But Flick stood up to him and won't let him treat his new friend, like some new rooky who's walking into the gym.
Then, Drake punch him and Flick receive a black eye. Modo was furious and challenge him for rematch in a one round boxing. So, they enter inside the ring begun their fight Modo really gotten a hand this fight, however Drake gotten lighting fast attack to turn the table. And that when Drake began to beat up Modo, again. But, when he on the ropes; Modo spotted his rhino friend, Chirros, along with Flick cheering him on.
And that's when he remembers Flick's story, that he told him back from the gym. With Modo fight back with all his strength, and training with his new friend, Flick. When he began to throw his final punch, he won the round and Drake forgive him all thing he bully him all his gym time. So far, Modo and Flick will be able to become champion together in the future.
