2) Arrogance (read that with Palpatine´s voice)

very usually they REALLY didin´t notized that USA is not THE ONLY PART OF America, depite the same name of the country says it. 99% of THE YANKIS ( ;3) that i know are very good people (excepting the ones of AMERICA IS THE BEST COUNTRY OF THE WORLD BECAUSE WE HAVE GUNS that really disguist me a lot) . We make the same error with the UK. For us , is "Inglaterra" (England), that is a part of the UK
But is the part that tries to invade us time to time and already have part of our territory in their hands, so MEH

Probably the biggest issue with this is there's no direct translation for estadounidense. From what I've heard, people in Central and South America generally consider themselves Americans, but places such as Canada want to distinguish themselves from the U.S, and calling them Americans is equivalent to calling an Irishman English. After all, Ireland is part of the British Isles, but only Northern Ireland is part of Britain.
A commonly accepted noun for U.S. citizens is not yet available, yet even U.S in itself feels nondescript due to United States being a government description akin to People's Republic and Socialist Republic. Examples of previously existing United States can be found below:

Until a common term becomes naturally accepted in modern speech, referring specifically to one's nation may be the best way to avoid ambiguity, with U.S. citizens referring to "America" as the U.S.

The U.S. is stuck in political bottlenecks over important issues due to system conflicts that are too numerous to count. It is also very big for a political entity, with numerous governments operating under it. The cost and red tape to officially change all records, signs, and packaging would be a logistical nightmare. We are a hulking beast trapped in webs we wove ourselves. A modern-day Rome if there ever was one.
