He has demonstrated on several occasions while under stress to put aside these downfalls and become an asset instead of a liability. Weller's knowledge of the unnatural and runes is unique[*3] and matches the levels of Hunters despite not being a Seer.

Addendum/Notes

From the notes of Military Psychologist and Analyst Markun Yat

Lorn Weller had a troubled childhood, growing up in a Taouk slum to a pair of poor parents. From what he's disclosed, his parents were negligent and he went through a rough upbringing. In his early teens he fell into a hole of petty crimes and drug abuse. As he grew, he was eventually pressured into participating in a botched armed robbery attempt, where he was apprehended and sentenced to 10 years in a juvenile detention facility, moving to a full fledged prison when he would eventually turn 20. In his first year he undertook drug rehabilitation, working on his addiction and quickly becoming involved in the Faridian faith. The past abuse of drugs is most likely what makes Weller so paranoid as they leave a lasting and deep scar on him. Weller is deeply religious, prompting his teammates to give him the nickname of "Preacher", which he wholeheartedly accepted. Despite his complete faith, he seems nervous or unwilling to talk about it much. Weller does not talk much about himself or his past unless prompted, he seems to be quite introverted and quiet. He acts as his team's runesmith and pseudo-Hunter, despite not being a Seer. He enlisted out of prison to lighten his sentence, finding a comfortable niche in his position and profession. He gets along with most of his team, although he has a tendency to be difficult with more strict commanders, especially older males. This may have something to do with his relationship with his father or his past run in's with the law, but that is just my speculation.

Lorn is rarely seen without his rune book, and never without his Faridian necklace. He has sketched runes into his armour and clothing, most likely a result of his paranoia. He has been noted drawing runes on entrances in any building he spends long periods of time in. This seems to calm his anxiety.
