Another sketch, this one was again with the break-happy Pentel 0.5 lead.
Good points about the lead:
Can erase a little, not completely, so you can fix minor mistakes
Does not smear when marker is layered on top
Looks pretty darn neat
Bad points:
Breaks constantly
Does not scan very well - comes out kind of light...

I've been using Staedtler "non-print purple" drafting lead in a drafting pencil for sketching lately. I messed around with the Pentel blue and red 0.5 lead when I started out drawing. I ended up switching to col-erase pencils because three things about the Pentel lead bothered me. First the eraseability wasn't so great, it could be erased, but not completely. Second, the lead broke way too often, and third I found it took a lot of pressure to get a solid line down on paper and it would literally leave an indentation on underlying pages in a sketchbook.
