... funny how I post that journal and KNOW I need to rest myself, when I hear the track "Up and Over and Out" by Renard off of his new album, Figurehead.

I was just... playing Mother 3. [No spoilers. Not done yet. I'm slow.] When the song rolled on. I instantly loaded a savestate and popped DIRECTLY into Sai to get this idea I had embodied.

Sonic is captured, yes, and has no escape, like the lyrics of the song say. And yet the upbeat tone of the music, and the rather rebellious tone, suggests an exit is out there somewhere; it's interesting. And I thought of sonic getting caught and being left to die, just to turn the situation around.

...

And yes, the blood was necessary.
