Millie the Lovable Monster and Goodie the Pink Ghost, 16 ...
Redraw of the major elements for the cover of Millie the Lovable Monster #1, published by Dell comics. You can see it at https://comicbookplus.com/?dlid=33910 ... so the promise of it caught my eye because I love that gentle-soul/monster-body dichotomy. The comic book was short-lived, running three issues in 1962 and then the same three issues reprinted in 1972. And it is a weird one. It's quite boring, don't get me wrong. The stories are pitched at an audience younger than you'd expect for any Harvey Comic except maybe Baby Huey, and the characters don't have the depth of, like, Little Dot. Also, like, Millie's lovability is mostly an informed attribute. She's mute, and we don't get thought balloons either, so she really seems to be standing around while everybody else has the story around her.
Still it's weird to have a comic in which so much nothing happens. If you have a spare hour, really, give it a go. It's an experience. Or lack of experience.
Goodie the Pink Ghost, having so little anatomy, is surprisingly hard to draw.
Those apron and hat ruffles are a lot of fun to draw and I recommend drawing ruffles to anyone having a hard day. It's therapeutic.
