I found myself in need of a little more storage, but a quick trip down to the local hardware store left me reeling at the prices of pre-made sheds. Fortunately growing up on the farm means there was never a shortage of things to build or repair with dad. A short walk from the shed displays to the lumber section, some doodling on my notepad, and a little maths later and I was headed home with a trailer full of lumber for 1/5th the price.
Fun commission depicting one of my favorite pass times. It's strange how one of my favorite things to do when off work is to work on personal projects that can range from a simple shed to significant home improvements or even tinkering with a car.

Yea, they're way overpriced. Legit built the 12x16 with 10ft ceiling, 2x6 ceiling rafters and floor joists, 3/4 decking and gambrel roof for additional storage up top. All built on 4, 4x6 skids so it can even be moved if desired. Took me 2 fairly easy, relaxed pace days for me and a friend to build and I wasn't kidding about it being 1/5th the price.
I have my own tools. Pretty much the only things I have to outsource are engine machine work, tire mount and balancing for auto work and when doing any sort of home improvements or new construction I might rent some machinery for grading if the pad is going to be large enough or a crane if needed.
