I realized that I unintentionally remade my old 2016 painting when I was working on this new one. The similarities are obvious but, at least for me, it's also obvious how much I've changed.
The 2016 one was made shortly before I joined FA and the 2020 one helped me reach my 5000th follower. These 4 years of growth I absolutely owe to the support I've had here on FA.
That's why, of course, I'll be doing a giveaway to celebrate this milestone!
Expect a journal about it in the next few days! :)

I wouldn't say its a copy per se It holds a lot of similarities but I think something that speaks to how much you've grown as an artist is how it looks like a different locale. The 2016 one looks like the fantasy mix of grassland forest/rolling hills into a mountain. Where as the 2020 looks like a scene you could actually see somewhere in Bulgaria with the darker tones of grass and the fog coming off the water. Even though they look similar in composition the details paint them as 2 distinctly different places.
I find both amazing, though you've definitely improved a lot! The way all forms and colours blend together on the painting from 2020 is amazing. Your art is wonderful and I'm very happy you are sharing with us. It's been a pleasure seeing each one of your paintings (even though I am more of a lurker and don't always comment > <).
