Either is Zonoya not wearing scales or it's a bit overrated...Mature dragonscales should be more durable then a whelp could affect them.

Pure Reflex. You suddenly get cut when you're not expecting it the natural reaction is going to recoil. Yeah she throw him but on reflex, and well he had it coming. As a mother dragon I'd say that's almost the equivalant of getting a spanking (or at least we'll see what one for dragons is going to be very soon).

I agree, adult dragon's scales are very tough, but like it was said before, she probably threw her due to reflex and anger.
