Just a step by step I did, a collaberation of the steps I take to do a drawing.
First, a simple quick sketch of a skeleton. This is the frame work and posing for the drawing.
Second, is a full skeleton. This step is not usually done as the first one is sufficient enough for a skeleton. I just drew it because I ejoy drawing out the skeleton in full detail.
Third, the skin, external features, expression and form. Obviously this is the step where the character finally looks like a character.
Fourth, clothing and accessories. This ads further character as you can use these elements to show off character style and sometimes hint at their interests and personality.
Fifth, clean up. It's what it sound like. You clean up the lines to give the image clarity and form by using varying line thicknesses.
Sixth, draw out where the shading will be placed to give the form a extra kick.
Lastly, colour, which I'm not displaying in this pic.
