There is a show called "Birdz", which first aired in 1998, which kind of uses this idea. Episode 1 hatches the new chick, Abby, and you get to see her bounce around as she starts to get better as a flyer. (I never physically saw the show, but you may enjoy it. The entire series is free to watch on YouTube.)
