Being a Werewolf doesn't make you a mindless killing machine. In fact, if you have a close personal bond with someone, unless provoked you are generally quite friendly and protective of them. This is of course not true in all situations, but at home most have nothing to fear from werewolf loved ones... as long as they are fed.
