I think either works, but from watching the trailer for the game this work is based on, I've never played Changed, it was a contact with the fur that did it, there were no Puro masks. Personally I have a feeling that mask is a weak point.

I've always wondered why Puro and all transfurs in general seem to have clearly visible bulges despite having no private parts, I know Dragonsnow essentially designed them to be like that, don't know if was intentional.

Because after getting transfurred you don't become goo. You just transform and get covered in goo. Private parts are still there, they're just hidden with goo
