A Day At The Creek
It's been awhile since I've written a story hasn't it?
This story is a slice of life story I wrote as a gift for my friends;
acr and
Blueratmatt about us and their family & friends spending a day at a creek I know about. It was a pretty big task writing multiple characters at once and I was worried I wouldn't finish before summer ended, but I succeeded in doing both.
This story is dedicated to
acr and
Blueratmatt whom are two of the best friends I could possibly have. They were there for me when I started and still are today.
Jasmine is
acr 's GF, Matilda and Squeaks are
Blueratmatt 's wife and daughter respectively, and Flippy is their pet.
With all that out of the way, here is the story:
A Day At The Creek
A group of friends were walking through the forest. At the front of the group was a Lucario named Jake. He wasn't any different from other Pokemon of his species, except for one thing; his color. His main fur was the same blue as the rest of his kind, but the rest of him was very different indeed. He had a yellow "mask", lobes, and torso. His hands and shoulders were also the same deep blue as his main fur, while his arms, legs, feet, and "belt" were gray.
This Lucario wasn't the only one of the group who had different fur. Most of his friends with him had unique colors unlike the rest of their species. One of those exceptions was Dustin, a Woodfox who's fur was the same Orange color with black paws and ears, and brown hair. He also had on a maroon T-shirt with yellow stripes on the arms and a white skull on the front of it, a pair of grey shorts, and brown shoes. He also wore glasses. Then there was Jake's other best friend; Matt. Matt was a Wharf Rat whom like the Jackal Pokemon had colors varying greatly from his species. His main fur was a bright blue, while his secondary fur on the front of his torso, and the inside of his ears were white. He had on a red cap and shirt, and cloudy-blue pants.
Both Dustin and Matt had brought company in the form of Dustin's girlfriend and Matt's wife and daughter. Dustin's girlfriend was a Skunk named Jasmine. She had grey and white fur, white hair, and she had on a pink shirt and a black skirt. Matt's Wife, Matilda was a Mouse who had white & cream fur, a pink shirt, and dark blue shorts. In her arms, she was carrying her and Matt's daughter, Squeaks. Squeaks had gray and white fur, and was wearing a blue and white shirt, a red ascot, and blue shorts. Behind the group was Flippy; Matt's pet Mini-Dolphin. All of whom we're behind Jake as he lead them deeper into the forest.
"Are we there yet?" asked Matilda, who was starting to grow tired of walking through the overgrowth. "We should be right nearby, it's not long now." Jake answered back. "You know, if it were dark out and if there was tracks under our feet, I'd say we were on the Magic Railroad." joked Matt. "Speaking of which, Did you find a way to get there?" asked Dustin. "Not yet." Jake answered "I've checked open fields, and the sides of the mountains near here, but I haven't found anything. I just hope that Lady's still running, no one's heard anything about her in a decade and a half..." he said. The others sighed in agreement.
Soon enough, the group came to a thick wall of vines and bushes. "Alright we're here." Said Jake. He slowly pulled away the vines, and everyone stared in amazement at the sight. The creek Jake lead them to was the most beautiful sight any of them had ever seen. Mossy rocks big enough to sit on lined the creek bed, the water was a lovely blue and was clear enough to see the bottom. Then there was the waterfall with a ledge that stood tall enough for anyone to dive from.
"Wow... How long did you know about this?" asked Jasmine. "I've known about it for a pretty long time." Answered Jake. "Whenever I felt upset with the world, I'd come here. I thought I'd bring you guys here to relax too. Sorry I didn't tell you about this earlier." "It's fine." said Dustin. "Now where do we change?" "I can change right here." Said Jake. And as quickly as he said it, he changed into his main, and true form; a Buizel. His Buizel form, like his Lucario form, Had colors varying from Those of a regular Buizel. He had A light blue color similar to Matt's as his main fur, while his secondary Fur and arm fins were a lighter shade of blue. And the flotation sac his species was well-known for was white. "All done." he said cheekily. "But what about the rest of us?" asked Matilda. "there's some rocks by the waterfall that are tall enough to act as a changing room." answered Jake. He led them to it, and soon enough everyone had gotten changed. Dustin and Matt were wearing blue and red Swimsuits respectively, Jasmine had on a yellow two-piece bikini, Matilda had a pink one-piece, and Squeaks had an indigo one-piece with a pink skirt around it.
Matilda noticed that Jasmine was looking doubtful. "is something wrong?" she asked. "I'm not too sure about how I look." she said, looking to the ground." "Nonsense." said Matilda firmly. "You look excellent in that bikini." "Agreed." said Dustin. "Me too." put in Jake "And even if you weren't none of us would care. You're a sweet person, and we enjoy your company. You're kinda like Molly, and that yellow bikini you have really helps with that." "Thanks you guys." said Jasmine with a smile.
Everyone lined up by the creek bed. "Alright then, When I count to three, we all jump in at once." Said Jake. Everyone nodded in agreement. "Alright, one... two... THREE!" Everyone jumped in creating a big splash that could be heard throughout the clearing.
Some time later, everyone was doing their own thing. Jake decided to be cheeky. He noticed Dustin and Jasmine were holding hands on a part of the creek that was shallow enough for them to stand on. He also noticed that there was enough space for him to swim between them, this gave Jake an idea. The Sea Weasel Pokemon smirked as he dove under the water and swam slowly between them. Neither Woodfox nor Skunk noticed as they were talking to each other. "This will be funny." Jake sniggered to himself. Soon his tails were between both their stomachs. Then, the Buizel began tickling both of them with his tails. The fox and skunk couple immediately began laughing in response to the tickling sensation. "HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA JAJAHEYHEYHEYKE WHAHAHAHAHAT ARHARHARE YOUOUOUOU DOHOHOHOHIHIHIHNG?!!!" cried Jasmine as her chubby belly was tickled relentlessly. "I'm having fun!" Jake answered. "OHOHOOHOHOHOHO, DUHUHUHUDE PLEHEEHEEHEEHEASE STAHAHAHAHAP!!!!" Dustin pleaded. "Hmmm... Alright." answered Jake. he stopped his tickling and swam away, leaving the two catching their breath.
Jake then noticed Squeaks and Flippy splashing around nearby and decided have some fun with them too. He swam over to them. "Hey Squeaks, whatcha' doin'?" "I'm just swimming around." answered his friend's daughter. Buizel smiled. "You wanna go fast?" he asked. Squeaks looked towards the Buizel with interest. "you wanna go REALLY fast?" Jake asked again. "Heck yeah I do!" she answered. "Alright then." said Jake, then the Buizel turned around so his back was facing the Mousling. "Climb on my back and I'll take you for a ride." Squeaks excitedly climbed onto the Buizel's back, wrapping her limbs around his torso. The Water-Type Pokemon looked over at Flippy. "Want to race?" he asked the mini dolphin. "Sure." he squeaked. "Alright then, hang on tight Squeaks!" he cried. Then he began twirling his twins tails, jetting himself and Squeaks around the creek. Flippy was surfing along besides Jake. "Wooohooooo!!!" Squeaks shouted. The three of them were having the time of their lives.
After some time jetting and racing around the creek, Squeaks had an idea of her own. "Hey Jake, Flippy, let's splash my parents!" Jake grinned at that idea. "Squeaks, your so devious. Let's do it!" The trio began to form a plan. "Alright, Flippy and I will go underwater while you distract them, Then once we begin using our tails to splash them, you'll join in." Explained Jake. "Got it." said Squeaks and Flippy. With that, Jake and Flippy dove underwater while Squeaks swam over to her parents. "Look at me!" she said excitedly as she turned upside-down in the water. Matt and Matilda watched in amusement, little did they know that their daughter and their friend were about to give them a real surprise. The Buizel and Mini-Dolphin swam underwater so that Matt and Matilda were between them and Squeaks. He gave Squeaks a thumbs-up from underwater. Squeaks returned it and turned back upright. Jake and Flippy got into position so that their tails were facing the rodent couple. "Now look behiiind yoou." said Squeaks cheekily. Matt and Matilda did just that and were met with a wave of water hitting them both in the face, soaking them.
"YOU LITTLE BLUE ASS RAG!" shouted Matilda. Buizel just laughed and continued splashing them. Squeaks and Flippy did too, but it wasn't much compared to the tidal waves Jake was making. Matt and Matilda then began splashing the pranksters back and even called Dustin and Jasmine over to help them. Soon everyone was splashing each other and having fun. Jake was enjoying himself enormously, in his Buizel form he could use his tails to create massive waves to splash his friends, and he had his water gun attack which helped when splashing from a few yards away. Being a water type Pokemon also meant he could dive underwater and evade the splashes sent back at him as well as swim around the others to take them by surprise.
Eventually, everyone got tired of splashing each other and sat or lied down on the moss rocks lining the creek. "This is the life..." Jake sighed. "Agreed." said Matt "Thanks for taking us here." "Anytime." replied Jake "I'm just glad to give you guys a break." "What do you mean?" asked Dustin. "Well, Matt & Matilda have the submarine to run as well as caring for a BUNCH of kids, and you have your live talk show. I brought you guys here so that we could all take some time out." answered Jake. "You're really a good friend." said Matt. "Not nearly as good a friend as you guys." Jake chuckled.
As the three friends were talking to each other, Matilda looked up at the waterfall. The ledge at the top looked idea for diving, but there didn't seem to be any way to get up there, at least not that she could see. "Hey Jake?" she asked "Is there any way to get to that ledge?" "There is." Jake answered "I'll show you it, follow me." he added as he got up and began walking to where the supposed access point was. Matilda followed, and so wonderingly did the others.
Buizel led them to a thick wall of bushes right where the edge of the forest was, the group pushed past them and were greeted to a set of natural stone stairs. The size of the stairs and the taller furs was the equivalent of children and the giant stairs commonly seen in play area like those in fast food restaurants; tall and hard to climb, but climbable nonetheless. Or at least it was for Dustin, Matt, Matilda, and Jasmine. Squeaks, Flippy, and Jake were all too short to be able to climb them. Thankfully for Jake, he could get around that easily. he quickly changed into his Lucario form. "Alright then, let's continue." he said.
"What about us? asked Squeaks, referring to herself and Flippy. "Flippy can go, but you can't." said Jake. "And why not?" said an offended Squeaks. "It's because you're too small and could get hurt." said Matt. "But Flippy is smaller than me!" Squeaks protested. "Flippy is a Mini-Dolphin and has experience with diving, you don't." Matt explained. Squeaks understood now, but she wasn't any less disappointed. Jake felt sorry for her. He knelt down to her level "You may be too small and young to dive right now, but I know something else you can do." "What?" asked Squeaks. Jake stood up "Let's have a Diving competition." he suggested. "Squeaks can be the judge." The others thought it a great idea, especially Squeaks.
Soon everybody except Squeaks climbed to the top of the waterfall while Squeaks found a nearby moss rock to sit on. The top of the waterfall was pretty small, with the waterfall flowing from a crack in the rocks that continued flowing a few yards before cascading down the falls and into the creek below. "Alright then, we'll all dive one time, and the ones who gets the highest score from one to ten wins bragging rights until the next time we do this." Buizel explained. "You guys can go first." he added.
It took some time deciding who would be first. Eventually, it was decided Matt would be the first one off to dive. He walked up to the ledge, the creek looked very different from above. The Wharf Rat took a deep breath, and jumped. As he dove, he threw his arms in the air and splashed into the water. He swam up to the surface and looked at his daughter, who was holding up six fingers to symbolize his score. "Alright, six. not bad." he said as he swam to the side of the creek. Matilda was next, she jumped off without hesitation, putting her arms in front of her to cut perfectly into the surface of the water. She rose to the surface to find she got a score of seven out of ten. "Better luck next time, Squeakheart." she teased as she got out of the creek next to her husband.
Next was Dustin, The Woodfox also took a bit of time to take in the scenery from above before diving. He formed a triangle shape with his body and then straightened himself before hitting the surface of the creek with a splash, having successfully performed a jack knife. His score was also a seven. Jasmine walked up to the ledge and began feeling nervous again. "You'll be fine." encouraged Dustin from below. "Alright then." said Jasmine. She took a few breaths before finally jumping. she spread her arms out as she dove, managing an excellent swan dive. When she got out of the water with a score of eight, she was feeling more confident. "Nice dive." Said Dustin as she climbed out of the water. Flippy went after Jasmine, he ran to the surface and immediately jumped from the ledge and managed to flip twice in the air before hitting the water. Squeaks held up nine fingers. "Can't believe we all got outscored by our pet." Said Matilda huffily.
Jake was the last one left. He changed into his Buizel form and walked up to the ledge. He took some time before diving, this wasn't to focus, but to take in the scenery. He looked at the water, then to the mossy rocks, then the flowers, bushes and other greenery on either side of the creek, and then down toward his friends who were waving and cheering at him. He took a deep breath. "The creek is beautiful." he sighed, before he finally jumped off the ledge. He curled into a wheel and flipped not once, not twice, but three times before straightening himself and putting his arms in front of him, and he dove arms and head first into the water. The others clapped and cheered, but the Sea Weasel Pokemon wasn't done yet. He leapt from the water before diving back under, repeating the trick three times before finally leaping onto the surface. Everyone cheered for him, and Squeaks held up her arms, both hands open. Jake had gotten a score of ten and won the diving competition. "Well done, Jake!" cried Jasmine. "That was an epic dive!" Said Matt. Even Flippy was impressed. "Thanks. This isn't the first time I've dived off that ledge, but it was fun competing with you guys." said Jake. "you all did pretty great too." "I just wish I could have been able to dive too." said Squeaks. Jake looked over at the mousling. "When you are tall enough, I promise you'll be the first to dive off that ledge." the Buizel promised. Squeaks smiled "Thank you." she said.
Soon, after a bit more swimming around in the creek, it was time to go. Everyone got changed and began their journey back. Matt and Matilda were happy to have some time away from running their restaurant, Dustin and Jasmine were happy to spend some time together, and Squeaks and flippy were glad to have some fun in the water. But Jake was the happiest of all. He was glad to have spent another day at his favorite place, and was very happy to have spent the same day sharing that special place with his friends.
It was truly a very good day for all of them.
