I lost my father in July. It ended up being a catalyst to start sharing my artwork with the world rather than just keeping it all on my hard drive. He was a painter his whole life, I can't remember a visit to the seaside when he didn't want to set his easel up and start painting landscapes. I tried to show him my art a few times, but coming from a traditional background and drawing from life he never really understood my imagination-focused work. I think he was still glad to know one of his kids wanted to make art though, even if it wasn't like his.
