Atlas is deciding to visit someone that he (probably) knows, and what better way to do so than to just casually prop yourself against their hillside home.
Fair to say that Atlas is getting a redesign as shown here, along with a few others. He's to be more akin to the rito from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Along with a sheet coming from a trade, I will be modeling him out with this new look. Won't be as muscular as depicted here, but will definitely be a welcome change for him.
