Vahrid is a Shen'uth; a semi-aquatic alien race in my space headworld. They are adapted to mostly arctic conditions. They inhabit a small planet in the same system as the home planet of the space orcs, and the two races have good relations. Shen'uth as a whole are a very intelligent species, though they far prefer their free-spirited ways of living over technological advancement. They exhibit bioluminescence to deal with both deep water and winter darkness, and they can strobe their glow like a jellyfish as a form of threat display. Shen'uth have highly venomous spurs on their feet, said venom being extremely painful and paralytic in nature. Their large, zygodactyl feet aid them greatly in distributing their weight across ice so as to walk on it without breaking through. Their 'hair' is actually tentacle-like, and is very receptive to things like electric fields and changes in water currents. Their skin is similar to that of a shark's; smooth in one direction, and sandpaper-like in the other. Despite their fish-like appearance, Shen'uth are physically more comparable to mammals. They are warm-blooded, do not possess gills, and give live birth.
