Oh those were fun kits. 5th grade we had an hour a week in class to work on hobbies. I was building and painting the Scorpion model - it kinda disturbed the teacher for some reason - I just put one of the little HO scale figures in one claw and a car in the other.... Had it on my HO train layout for a while along with some Airfix HO scale Sherman tanks

I can see a giant mantis at my local zoo https://www.zoochat.com/community/m.....lpture.327337/ Heritage Park Zoo has that by the kid's play area along with a giant spider web made from rope. - Yes, I've laid in the web and started going "Help meeeeeeee! Ahhhhh! "
