These local drekir in central florida had lucked into hunting down one of the Giant Caribbean Aligators of the region (a small one but still) and they are harvesting the meat.
For a kill this large the general gameplan is to camp the night next to the body, using the meat as a lovely dinner and the fire to ward off insects large and small. the next morning will be a frenzy, couriers would probably be sent back to the village asking for tools, travois, pots and baskets, and as many hands as possible to carry as much of the meat back home as they can. After that it's gonna come down to butchering the body, preserving what they can and cooking the rest for the village to enjoy. The hide might be used to make clothing or to cover the roofs of their homes with to keep the regional torrential rains out, the bones might be boiled into some nice broths or used in jewelry, the teeth often also being used in decoration. And some of the hardiest scales, the back scales, might be used to defend their warriors with scaleplate shields to keep back the angry atlatl darts of rival tribes in the region should a push turn into a fight.
The meat itself will ideally last a week, the bad news is that drekir need meat heavy diets and that meat can only last so long in the humid subtropics before it begins to rot without modern preservation techniques. but I wouldn't let that fact down the spirits of the drekir, after all "Wego ean gud a'night!"
